Finally we are heading out to our first scuba diving trip in French Polynesia. The Hemisphere Dive Center has got enough clients today to take us on an afternoon dive. A short boat ride takes us to the outer reef side from were we drop into the clear and warm ocean.

Immediately we are greeted by a friendly Titan Trigger fish, who was raised and fed by local divers, to prey on starfish, and now is very acquainted with divers. He was following us during the whole dive.

Next was a blacktip shark that checked on us. We were diving along the reef mostly covered in hard corals, giving shelter to many smaller fish. Axel, our dive guide, promised us some (adolescent) whitetips, which we eventually found resting in a little cave in the reef.

After 45 minutes we surfaced again.
