A Rainy Day in Moorea

We woke up in the pouring rain. The partially nice weather of the arrival day did not continue. Nevertheless, we rented a car and circumvented the island (~80km), keeping the windscreen wipers busy the whole trip. There were a couple of opportunities to have some indoor stops on our island tour including visitng the juice factory (Moorea is home to a very tasty variety of pineapple)

and a stop at the Nature museum – Fare Natura

Due to the wet weather we only had a quick photo stop thereafter at the bay of Pao Pao.

Driving all the way up to the Belvedere lookout revealed nothing but a gray wall of rain and clouds. We couldn’t leave the car and go on a hike, because of the rain and the gusty winds, that broke a lot of branches from the trees. Thus we ended up returning to the hotel and shelter from the rain in the early afternoon.
